Favorite Child Brewing Company

Services

Overview

Brand Strategy, Brand Identity, Beer Cans, Social Media, Merch, Misc.

Favorite Child Brewing Co., established in 2021, serves as the brewery license for Local Tap, enhancing its offerings with a diverse selection of craft beers. Unlike many breweries, which often exude a gritty, intimidating vibe, Favorite Child Brewing Co. prioritizes warmth and inclusivity in its branding and atmosphere. The brewery's distinctive colors and design elements are carefully chosen to convey a sense of friendliness and approachability, welcoming both seasoned beer enthusiasts and newcomers alike. Drawing inspiration from the whimsical aesthetic of 1920s cartoon styles, known today as rubber hose cartoons, the brewery's characters and imagery add a playful touch to its identity, further enhancing its charm.

Launch date

Jan 2021

Brand Strategy

Brand Story

Favorite Child Brewing was inspired by my family dynamic. With four siblings, we have always playfully debated who the "favorite child" was among us. This concept became the foundation of our brewery's identity. As a family with strong entrepreneurial roots, we wanted the brewery to reflect our shared spirit and upbringing. The name evolved through several iterations, including MOD5 Brewing, Golden Child Brewing, and Beer Co., before we landed on Favorite Child Brewing Company—perfectly capturing both our family values and competitive spirit.

Brand Identity

Logos

Favorite Child Brewing Co. features three distinct logos, each crafted with a specific purpose to encapsulate the essence of the brewery's identity. The main logo functions as the complete emblem, perfect for main signage. The second logo is tailored for social media platforms, while the third logo is designated for use on all merchandise items.

Brand Strategy

Visual Inspiration

Our brand's aesthetic draws heavily from our childhood experiences and the joy we shared growing up as a Disney family. Visiting Disney every other year was a cherished tradition where we could embrace playfulness, bond as a family, and simply have fun together. This nostalgia led us to adopt the Rubberhose animation style, reminiscent of early Disney cartoons, which felt whimsical, lighthearted, and rooted in positive memories. Beyond the personal connection, the design choice also pays homage to history. Disneyland opened just a few years after the Spanish flu pandemic, using creativity and escapism to bring people back together. Similarly, we launched our brewery just two years after the COVID-19 pandemic, inspired to create a space where people could reconnect and celebrate life through creative storytelling and fun experiences.

Brand Identity

Character Design

Beer Cans

Social Media Design

Our social media designs mix vintage flair with a playful Favorite Child twist, keeping things engaging and modern. We spotlight beer specials during local sports events, like Phillies and Eagles games, as well as holidays, while also showcasing our newest brews.

Conclusion

Favorite Child Brewing Company isn’t just about great beer—it’s about celebrating family, creativity, and the moments that bring people together. With a brand rooted in personal history and a welcoming approach to craft beer culture, we’re here to inspire joy, connection, and a love for quality brewing.

Local Tap

Services

Overview

Brand Strategy, Brand Identity, AI, Menu Design, Social Media

Nestled in Lansdale, PA, Local Tap is a tasting room offering locally sourced beer, liquor, wine, and coffee since October 2019. While boasting a diverse beer selection, the focus here is on craft cocktails, catering to a balanced social scene. With an urban-inspired suburban vibe, Local Tap prides itself on innovative seasonal cocktails and rotating beer selections. Awarded the top spot in Montgomery County for four consecutive years, it's the go-to destination for quality libations in the area.

Launch date

May 2019

Brand Strategy

The Concept

Our goal was to design a space that resonated with a demographic of 30 to 60-year-olds seeking a sophisticated yet approachable environment. Understanding the dynamics of our local audience, we set out to create a venue that could cater to couples searching for the perfect date night destination.

Brand Identity

Logos

Local Tap's logo captures the essence of the brand with a clean and confident design. The bold, all-black style reflects the upscale yet approachable vibe of the bar, balancing modern sophistication with a welcoming energy. Its simplicity speaks volumes, embodying Local Tap's focus on quality, community, and creativity without overcomplicating the message.

Brand Strategy

The Approach

Operating with a brewery license means that beer must take center stage, but we also recognized the growing demand for high-quality cocktails. We strategically focused on creating innovative, delicious, and visually stunning cocktails to appeal to a broad range of tastes. By crafting a cocktail menu that stands out, we ensured that one partner could enjoy a beer while the other delighted in a perfectly made drink, bridging the gap between beer enthusiasts and cocktail lovers alike.

Brand Identity

Cocktail Innovation

At Local Tap, we pride ourselves on pushing boundaries to craft unique and innovative cocktails that our community loves. When we first expanded our cocktail offerings, no other bar in the area could match the depth and creativity we brought to the table. Over time, as our cocktails became the talk of the town, we noticed other bars attempting to emulate our style. This only fuels our drive to stay ahead, continuously exploring fresh ideas that surprise and delight our patrons. To elevate our presence even further, we’ve incorporated AI into our cocktail photography, ensuring our social media images are as striking and distinctive as the drinks themselves.

Menus

This menu is displayed on our TV Beer Menu, located behind the bar. Yellow stars next to certain beers indicate our house brews, while red-highlighted beers mark the newest additions on tap. New beers remain highlighted in red for about one week, ensuring guests can easily spot our latest offerings.

Social Media Design

At Local Tap, we’ve honed our social media strategy to reflect our audience—80% women and 20% men—by focusing heavily on showcasing our cocktails, especially on Instagram. While our mom, with her passion for community connection, runs our Facebook page with her personal flair, we take a more strategic approach on Instagram. Posts are intentional and patient, designed to build anticipation and deliver high-impact moments rather than flooding feeds. I’ve always admired Gary Vee, but instead of pushing content constantly, I believe in crafting posts that feel exciting and meaningful. We lean heavily on Instagram Stories for regular updates, saving our main feed for big cocktail launches or event announcements. This approach has paid off: our latest cocktail release hit over 6,000 views, 50 shares, and 200 profile visits—all with just 2,000 followers. Quality over quantity is how we keep our audience engaged and coming back for more.

Merchandise

Beer Can Designs

Before merging Favorite Child Brewing Company with Local Tap, we created and released our own beer cans. While we only launched three designs before the merger, they made a significant impact and were highly successful during their time.

Conclusion

As we continue to grow, Local Tap remains committed to its founding principles: celebrating local producers, crafting exceptional beverages, and providing an upscale yet accessible environment for our patrons. Whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth, we aim to make every experience memorable and meaningful.

Island of Anguilla

Services

Overview

Branding, Social Graphic

During the Covid-19 pandemic, I was entrusted with designing two logos for the Island of Anguilla. Guided by clear briefs from team members, I translated their vision into branding that reflected the island’s aesthetic and identity. Additionally, I created a social media post highlighting one of Anguilla’s signature culinary dishes, further supporting the island's cultural promotion efforts.

Launch date

December 2020

Branding

Safe Environment Logo

This certification was awarded to hotels, transportation providers, and other businesses that complied with strict health and safety protocols. Displaying the certification assured visitors that these establishments followed Anguilla’s official COVID-19 guidelines, reinforcing their dedication to guest safety. The logo was thoughtfully designed using the island’s official colors and featured the three dolphins from Anguilla’s national emblem, creating a cohesive and recognizable visual identity.

Branding

Stay In Place (SIP) Logo

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Anguilla introduced a “Stay In Place” policy, requiring international travelers to quarantine for 10-14 days in Safe Environment Approved accommodations or private residences. This measure was designed to protect public health and preserve the island’s exceptionally low case numbers. When designing the “Stay In Place” logo, we prioritized visual consistency with Anguilla’s overall branding and the Safe Environment Approved mark. By giving the logo a friendly and approachable look, we aimed to ease traveler anxiety and present the policy in a more positive welcoming light.

Social Graphic

The Anguilla Bagel

The Anguilla Bagel isn’t a specific traditional dish unique to Anguilla but rather a creative take on the classic bagel, adapted to showcase the island’s local flavors and ingredients. During the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a trend of bring the taste of Anguilla into home kitchens, and the Anguilla Bagel became a part of this movement.

When designing the “Stay In Place” logo, we prioritized visual consistency with Anguilla’s overall branding and the Safe Environment Approved mark. By giving the logo a friendly and approachable look, we aimed to ease traveler anxiety and present the policy in a more positive welcoming light.

Abington Hospital Competition

Overview

Patient Room Wall Design, Play Room Wall Design

Back in 2020, during my senior year at Jefferson, Abington Hospital reached out to our Visual Communication Design professor with the goal of refreshing its pediatric unit. Throughout the spring semester, our senior class was given the opportunity to compete against one another for the chance to have our work featured in the hospital. My classmate and I won the competition and were selected to have our designs implemented. Although the project was delayed due to COVID-19, it was finally completed in October 2024.

Patient Room

Wall Design

The patient room before the redesign felt cold, dull, and potentially intimidating for young children. The new wall design aimed to create a warmer, more inviting space one that feels safe, cheerful, and comforting for kids.

Playroom Room

Wall Design

The playroom is dull and faded, with outdated finishes and furniture. It also lacks a cohesive visual connection to the rest of the wing, making it feel disjointed. While the room offers plenty of toys, it’s overly cluttered—leaving limited space for play or for older children to focus on homework. The redesign aimed to mirror the patient room’s transformation by creating a more lively, organized, and inviting space for all ages.

For my senior year capstone project, I have been developing an initiative since my freshman year of college, unlike most who begin in their final year. My project involves leading a nonprofit organization called Pave, which collaborates with businesses and partners to promote a sustainable future through the harnessing of piezoelectricity. Our mission is to drive sustainability forward and educate others about the benefits of piezoelectric technology, showcasing its potential to make the world more sustainable.

Launch date

May 2020

Brand Strategy

What is Piezoelectricity?

The Piezoelectric Effect is when certain materials can create electricity simply by being squeezed or pressed. These materials, called piezoelectric materials, generate a voltage when they are subjected to mechanical stress, like pushing or bending. This happens because the stress causes a shift in the material’s internal structure, leading to an electrical charge. This electrical charge can then be collected and used to power devices or generate other forms of energy.

The goal of PAVE

The goal of PAVE is to raise awareness about piezoelectricity and explore how it could potentially be used to power homes, businesses, and eventually entire towns. One proposed solution is a treadmill embedded with piezoelectric materials in its running track. Each step taken would generate a small amount of electricity, which would be stored in batteries. This stored energy could then be used to power the gym itself or be transferred to nearby buildings or generators to help offset their energy use. The overall mission is simple: to harness a sustainable energy source that can help power the world.

Brand Identity

PAVE Logo

The PAVE logo uses a blue gradient color palette to highlight its focus on technology and science. At its center is a stylized 'P' with an embedded arrow, representing progress and the forward momentum of the organization’s innovative mission.

Print Design

Infographics

The PAVE infographics are designed for trade show use, visually explaining how piezoelectricity works. The set includes four infographics: one on Greenhouse Gases, one on Electric Energy, and two focused on Piezoelectric technology. Each piece maintains brand consistency through the use of PAVE’s colors and typography, while incorporating isometric illustrations to create a more engaging and visually appealing experience for attendees

Print Design

Brochure

The brochures serve as a takeaway for trade show attendees, featuring the same key information found in the infographics. Designed with consistent branding, they provide a portable and easy-to-digest overview of PAVE’s mission and the science behind piezoelectricity.

UX/UI

PAVE Website

The PAVE website offers in-depth information on critical global issues such as rising temperatures, increasing carbon dioxide levels, and sea level rise. It also serves as a central hub for learning about PAVE’s mission and the potential of piezoelectricity as a sustainable energy solution. The site features a dedicated section showcasing real-world case studies where piezoelectric technology is already in use, as well as a donation tab for those who wish to support our nonprofit efforts. Additional resources and educational content are also available to help visitors better understand the impact and promise of this innovative technology.

Experience Design

PAVE High School Science Fair

The PAVE Science Fair is a global, school-hosted competition where students use the scientific method to explore piezoelectricity. Over the course of a school year, participants meet weekly after school to learn about sustainability, work with experts, and develop their own piezoelectric projects. PAVE provides all necessary materials, and at the end of the year, one finalist’s project is selected to be implemented in their high school.

PAVE High School Checklist

Students must complete all required checklists before being officially registered to participate in the PAVE Science Fair.
